In a world where professions often set boundaries, Navin Giri chose to break them.
A prominent lawyer and community worker based in Canada; Navin Giri could have remained within the structured corridors of the legal world. Instead, driven by an innate passion for conversation and Human Connection, he ventured into media—an arena far removed from his professional roots. What followed was the creation of two highly engaging and widely celebrated shows: “Kyon Ghanti Bajee” and “Dadagiri with Navin Giri.” Today, these platforms have evolved into social media phenomena, resonating with audiences across the globe.
A Divine Cue that turned a simple cup of Tea into a Blockbuster Idea.
For Navin, it wasn’t a mountain peak or a rainy street—it was a quiet 4:00 AM (early morning) tea session. While the world slept, the title “Kyon GhantiBajee” and “Dadagiri with Navin Giri” rang in his head like a temple bell.
With Zero Planning and Pure Instinct, he launched his first interview with 1984-batch IAS officer of the Madhya Pradesh Cadre Sudesh Kumar. It was a humble audio start, but destiny was already rolling with the flipped cameras of the iPhone for the interviews.
The Turning Point: A Lesson in Truth
If there’s one scene that defines the “Navin Giri Story,” it’s his first Big-Break, Navin reached out to veteran actor Kanwaljit Singh.
“I called Kanwaljit Singh Ji and we had a great chat,” Navin recalls with a laugh. “Then he asked me, ‘Who else from Film Industry have you interviewed?’ I told him the Honest Truth: ‘Sir, I haven’t interviewed any Big Stars yet.’ Kanwaljit Singh paused for a second and said, ‘In that case, do mine next week!’
That single moment of honesty didn’t just get him an interview; it set the ball rolling for a star-studded career of conversations and friendships with film industry legends like Rakesh Bedi, Virendra Saxena, Zarina Wahab, Shailendra Singh (Singer).
Navin’s natural warmth and genuineness also attracted legendary singers such as Anup Jalota, Bali Brahmbhatt, and Sudesh Bhosle, further enriching the diversity of voices on his shows.
A Legacy of Greatness
The “casting” of Navin’s life was prestigious from the start. As the great-grandson of Sh. V.V. Giri, the former President of India, Navin carries a legacy of intellect and dignity. This heritage shines through in his composed demeanor—he doesn’t need to shout to be heard. He is the interviewer who asks the toughest questions with the calmest smile, a style that has made his shows, “Kyon GhantiBajee” and “Dadagiri with Navin Giri” social media sensations.
What truly distinguishes Navin, however, is his interviewing style. In an era where sensationalism often overshadows substance, he stands firm in his belief that impactful conversations do not require conflict. Known for asking tough questions with calm composure, he creates an environment where guests feel respected rather than challenged. His approach fosters openness, making each interaction both insightful and engaging.
Navin also shares a deep admiration for internationally acclaimed poets Dr. Popular Meeruthi and Sanjay Jhala (Kavi), whom he frequently features in unique conversational formats. Popular Meeruthi’s and Sanjay Jhala’s wit and grounded personalities, he says, add a vibrant dimension to his shows. Similarly, his association with renowned poet Ashok Chakradhar reflects his appreciation for literary brilliance.
Beyond entertainment, Navin’s work extends into socially relevant and intellectually stimulating conversations. He has interviewed influential figures such as social reformer Anna Hazare and senior IPS officers including Neeraj Kumar (Former Police Commissioner-Delhi), T. R. Kakkar (Former Police Commissioner-Delhi), Prakash Singh, Aloke Lal and Satish Dogra—individuals who have played pivotal roles in shaping India’s law enforcement landscape. Navin Has also interviewed Kamal Taori a former I.A.S and Senior Journalist’s Vinod Agnihotri and Sheetal P. Singh.
Navin Giri has established himself as a thoughtful interviewer, engaging in meaningful conversations with a range of distinguished guests. His work includes interviews with prominent figures such as Pulitzer Prize winner and acclaimed investigative journalist David Cay Johnston. Through these discussions, he brings forward insightful perspectives while also highlighting the voices of other notable Canadians across various fields.
The Viral Interview
Recently, Navin Giri’s Conversation with Nabil Gabol hit an electrifying high. His interview on “Dhurendhar: The Revenge”(Movie) and a conversation with Nabil Gabol became an overnight digital storm. A single reel—where Nabil Gabol spontaneously said “I love you to Rakesh Bedi”—went viral, clocking over 2.2 million views on Instagram alone. This interview was widely covered by major news and media outlets, further underscoring its impact and relevance.
Kyon GhantiBajee and Dadagiri with Navin Giri are more than just talk shows—they are immersive experiences. They seamlessly blend humor with depth, entertainment with insight, and simplicity with meaningful discourse. Whether lighthearted or intense, every episode leaves a lasting impression.
At the heart of it all lies Navin’s guiding principle: respect. He treats every guest with equal dignity, ensuring that conversations remain constructive and authentic. He firmly believes in never provoking or insulting a guest, a philosophy that has earned him Admiration and Trust across audiences.
Navin believes that online conversations serve as a quick, accessible, and cost-effective medium for effectively conveying stories and messages to a wide audience. Navin also says, “In the era of social media, the future remains uncertain, and what comes next is anyone’s guess—so audiences can simply sit back and enjoy the journey as it unfolds”.
Navin, when asked about the person who supported him the most during his crucial times of struggle, credited his wife, Neha Giri, a Canada-based Solicitor and Barrister, for standing firmly by his side. He acknowledged that her unwavering support, strength, and belief in him played a significant role in helping him navigate challenging phases, highlighting her as a constant pillar of encouragement throughout his journey.
Today, from courtrooms to conversations that echo worldwide, Navin Giri stands as a testament to what happens when Passion meets Purpose.
Navin Giri’s journey proves that when you follow your calling with sincerity and courage, even the boldest dreams find their voice.
